October was a month marked by excitement and sounds with strong tones. The Rashõmon Club saw the best international artists, belonging to the current Techno scene, take turns at the console and prove the incredible strength of this musical genre. But for our clubbers the surprises are certainly not over.

Nonconformist, outside the box, and free of preconceptions. It is certainly no accident that Parrish Smith chose to open his biography this way, with a definition that leaves very little to the imagination.
Smith, also known for his Volition Immanent project, makes his debut on Dekmantel's UFO label, home to Techno music producers such as Randomer and Peter Van Hoessen. Thanks to his sound, which combines elements of classic analog gear with more modern aggressive and industrial sounds, he is making a name for himself in the trendiest clubs and venues.
Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal and post-punk atmospheres
On Soundcloud he defines his genre as "metal," and listening to his tracks one after the other, it becomes clear why. Sex, Suicide & Speed Metal not only demonstrates his incredible talent but also delivers atmospheres with a post-punk flavor, blending and mixing with perfect balance, metal rock guitar solos in futuristic scenarios and hard-edged influences over hip-hop-inspired drum beats. Smith thus gives proof of his incredible versatility: his rejection for conformity and constant ability to surprise the listener, manifest themselves overbearingly, track after track. To define Smith as a DJ would be utterly reductive and misleading; his music escapes the classic definition of club music, so much so that it redefines the conception of time and space where primitive sounds overlap with rock sounds. But where does this contamination of genres come from?
Parrish Smith owes his musical culture to his adolescence and family influences. Growing up with a mother who listened to Bollywood music and a father who alternated rock tunes with the more rhythmic sounds of reggae, he got to know and develop his creative flair. Versatility, talent, and incredible communication skills have allowed him to create a special bond and connection with his audience. Progression is the lifeblood of electronic music, and few have been able to push certain boundaries as far as Parrish Smith has. Figuring out the main core from which to start and developing an articulate project around it that you can work on is not for everyone! A perfect mix of genres, creative elements and sounds that have made Parrish Smith a standout in his genre.
