Acid Techno and Rave Culture with the sound of Dr.Rubinstein, Friday, Nov. 15 at Rashõmon Club.
Rubinstein is a Techno DJ who has never compromised or bowed to the recent turn of the genre. She loves Acid Techno, fast-paced beats, and underground culture, and because of this she has always remained true to her sound. At a very young age she began to immerse herself in the famous suburban scene of the top clubs first in Tel Aviv and then in the German capital.
On Friday, Nov. 15, Marina Rubinstein, aka Dr. Rubinstein, will be behind the console at Rashomon Club, ready to rock track after track.
From Tel Aviv to Berlin, a journey in time to music
"Being on the dance floor can change the world for a couple of hours. When you're on the dance floor everyone is suddenly equal and no one cares about your social background, the color of your skin or your sexual orientation, and people smile as they dance, so much so that a party can turn into a kind of paradise."
Marina Rubinstein, better known as Dr. Rubinstein, is the perfect example of someone who is in the right place at the right time.
She was born in Russia but spent most of her life in Israel before moving to Berlin from Tel Aviv in 2012. She is considered an irreverent songwriter, and her musical output fully confirms this. It is amazing how she has launched herself uncontrollably from Jerusalem business school to nightclubs and festival stages around the world, mostly without promoting herself through the usual circuits but trying to bounce her
name by word of mouth and by promoting his music in small venues.
And it was in Berlin that she gave birth to her sound. Although the temple of Techno welcomed her with open arms, Dr. Rubinstein has made her own freedom, musical and otherwise, her hallmark: she travels the world between parties, festivals and rave parties with her acid-laden sets.
Over time, her reputation grew spasmodically and she has since become one of the most sought-after DJs, with regular appearances at Berghain and Dekmantel Festival to name just two.

Especially in her early days, Dr. Rubinstein did not have an easy path: in an environment dominated mostly by male figures, the fear of being seen as one of the many girls trying to emerge in the Techno scene was a more than real risk. But that didn't stop her. Playing old tracks from Emmanuel Top or Harthouse records, for example, sets her apart from most other DJs currently on the international scene. Having a unique sound has definitely helped her get recognized and move on quickly: she loves primal sounds, frenetic rhythm, and enthusiasm, and this temperament of hers emerges with brutal force track after track.
Always focused on her work and always ready to experiment with new sounds to give to her clubbers, Marina Rubinstein learned her most important lessons about the art of DJing right on the dance floor: "When the music is right," she explains, "you can free your mind and just dance without thinking about anything. For me it is the best feeling in life, something that brings absolute happiness."
That "special feeling," as she describes it, is something Rubinstein constantly seeks, not only for herself but also for those who come to attend her performances.
We are already ready and pumped and, at this point, we can't wait to listen to his incredible mixes! No excuses, see you on Friday, November 15 at Rashomon Club!
